Hi, Welcome to my store. My name is Christine, and my husband and I started this business out of our garage. Gracious woods was an idea that I had for several years, but my husband helped me bring it to life with our first laser cutter. He’s my technician, and this business would have never come off the ground without him.
A little bit of my background, born in sunny SoCal to immigrant parents, I grew up wanting to be a Doctor. I stuck to that goal, and after completing MedSchool at UW, I began my career as a Physician Assistant almost a decade ago. I currently work in Trauma Surgery, and on the days (and nights) I’m not saving lives, I am in the garage with my husband cutting wood and acrylic.
As much as I love helping my patients, I truly love seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they receive my crafts. For all the sleep loss when we see how we touch people’s lives with our creations, it’s all worthwhile. I am truly blessed to have a husband with his skillset. He studied art and design and worked in that trade for 20+ years. There’s no idea I can bring to him that he can’t create. Together we officially make a mom-and-pop shop. As Lucy would say, “You’re the brains, and I’m the know-how”
Will we ever quit our day jobs? We get asked that a lot since beginning this journey. Only God knows his plan for us and His time will tell.
